    Tire shaped molding

I'm a 3d designer, and new to molding process.
Is it possible to mold this kind of shape? The material is SBR rubber, hollow at inside wall, also there will be a tire like pattern on its sides. sizes: OD: 39" ID: 25" Height:9"

    But then again, no.

SBR is a random copolymer, which cross-links, forming a thermoset material similar to natural rubber. It’s not processable via standard injection molding, but I imagine a tire manufacturer could make your part for you.

On the other hand SBS or SEBS are block copolymers that are melt-processable, but they’re more suitable for gaskets than for tires.

    Keep on molding ... thermoplastics.

Hey Jay, thanks for the reply.
Is there any similar material to replace it? It must have equal mass density as SBR, because this stuff is going to be weight specific.

    Brentb,

Do you mean using standard injection molding or other molding method? We prefer standard injection molding.

Contact : Woodland Plastics, or E-Jay Plastics in Addison IL, or Van Norman Molding in Broadview IL. All inject thermosets. Or try the thermoplastic resins JayDub mentions for "standard" injection molding.
