Solvent for cooked-on PC ABS or Cycoloy?
We need to replace the thermopcouple in a heated sprue bushing, and that requires removing the body heater. But the heater is firmly stuck in place with baked-on PC ABS. Does anyone know of a solvent that will dissolve the resin? I've tried MEK, and it wasn't effective. Thanks for any help.

How about turning the heater on in manual w/o thermocouple and cooking off resin? Maybe 20-40% power. Or get a Lazor blade heater or hot air gun to melt it off?

I'll try that and post the results. Thanks for the reply.
