Hi all,

Firstly, sorry if this question isn't appropriate for this forum, I'm not sure where else to ask...

I'm currently designing a hook which will be screwed onto the end of a telescopic pole. The hook is only fairly thin (4.25mm wall thickness), 40mm wide and is roughly c-shaped in profile. It has to be fairly strong and so I have been looking at different materials to have it made from. The likely contenders I have found up to now are nylon, glass reinforced nylon, or acetal. Which of these would be the best, and how much difference is there likely to be in cost of both the moulding tool and also cost per part?

I am about to approach a few injection moulding companies in the UK for quotes to make this, but want to have some idea about material choice before I do.

Many thanks in advance for any help,

Damian
