PMMI injection issues
Hello,
has anyone have experience in molding parts with PMMI and what are some of the issues you may have had. Trying to learn and trouble shoot this resin. Thanks

Re: PMMI injection issues
I've ran clear parts that we milky inside until the parts finished cooling internally. The resin likes a warm mold, not too much shear, and a good pack/hold to get best results.

yeah we have to run the mold at 230F and the shot is at 511F. it degrades super fast, has a lot of stability issues, for optics reasons we have to use it but this resin is a pain in the butt

Re: PMMI injection issues
Well I think PC is even harder to mold. High screw rpm or excessive back psi can over heat/shear the resin. Watch the screw psi as well to know if your heats/residence times are working well.
