Molding nylon with photoluminescent pigment and UV stabilizer

    hi there,

I need to produce a part which include 10% photoluminescent pigment with 2% UV stabilizer.

We ran a test previously which is without the UV stabilizer. The parts glow in the dark and no issue there. However when we ran the actual production, with the above mixture, the part turns out pale and doesn't glow as bright as what we wanted. Not sure if it was the UV stabilizer?

I was hoping someone that have done this before could give some tips how to resolve this problem.

    thanks
    Vincent

I don't know the exact chemistry but typically photoluminescence is driven by the absorption of higher energy UV photons. The UV stabilizer might be inhibiting this.
