    Masterbatch material dispersion

    Dear Members,

We have some problem with an article that we produce after the injection process.

We produce an transparent white shade (for a lamp article) and the material from each we make it is PPHO + white masterbatch (concentration 25%, we mix with 1% from the PPHO quantity).

The color is ok, the material is ok, the only problem is that because need to be transparent to see the light from the bulb, inside the material is has shadows marks or the material was not completely homogenized or melt correctly.

What do you think is the problem the masterbatch or the equipment parameters?

    Thank you!

    Hello,
This could be a processing issue, you need better mixing. Try:
    1. Increase the melt temperatures
    2. Increase screw rotation speeds
    3. Increase back pressures
Let us know if any of this helps. Also make sure you are not using a very large barrel for a small part.

Thank you for the information! We will apply the process that you recommended us and we will come back to inform you if that work.

The picture is not too clear but I think you need to get a special masterbatch mixed up for that specific job.
