mold flow review checklist
This is normally what we did for customer, what do you think?
Description of the work
Assumptions: (type of model used (thin shell, solid, etc), material, process conditions (melt
and mold temperature, fill time, pack and hold profile)
Image of the model used
Part thickness plot
Feed system details including sprue, runner and gate sizes
Filling Results. Include the following when available:
Fill time (animation 50 increments)
Fill time at 96% or when the first cavity fills for multiple cavity tools
Weld Lines
Air Traps
Pressure to fill or at v/p-switchover
Pressure at injection location XY Plot
Pressure (time dependent)
Clamp Force XY Plot
Temperature at Flow Front
Frozen Layer Fraction
Time To Freeze or Cooling Time Variance
Grow From for multiple gated parts
Sink Mark Depth or Sink Index
Volumetric Shrinkage at ejection
Orientation at skin
Bulk Shear rate (peak)
Shear Rate in the gate XY plot
Shear Stress at wall (peak)
Summary, including cavity and runner volumes
Cooling Results (if requested)
Top and Bottom Surface Temperature for Mold and Part (Midplane)
Temperature, Part and Mold (Dual Domain)
Time to reach ejection temperature, Part and Cold Runner
Mold-Melt Temperature difference, Part
Average Temperature, Part
Circuit Coolant Temperature (Core and Cavity)
