    Depends on what you are trying to make. Injection molding may not be the way to go for all parts. For those that fit injection molding it is usually a cost effective way to produce multiple parts quickly with pretty good tolerances.

    It's cheap
    i.e. it's cheaper to make products out of plastic than it is to make them in metal. A lot cheaper!

    the weight, plastic parts are usually much lighter than metal parts.
