    Lightbulb Plastic Flakes forming on Mold surface

    Good Day,

    What could be the possible cause of plastic flakes forming on the mold surface? Its a new issue that has develop on a mold this morning. Never experienced this before. Running PP.

    I have seen this condition with Sub-gates, The surface area where the sub-gates pulled required additional polish to remove rough surfaces that would flake while as the mold
    opened or during ejection. Not knowing what type gating your mold has I suggested this as a starting point.

    Yes it is a sub gate. and a brand new mold. I will check it out.

    I have seen it before from the runner, part, or cold slug well dragging on the way out causing it to leave flakes on the mold.

    I agree, check your parts and runner for drag marks, a tell tell sign for the issue you describe.
