Re: Plastic Flakes forming on Mold surface
I have seen this condition with Sub-gates, The surface area where the sub-gates pulled required additional polish to remove rough surfaces that would flake while as the mold
opened or during ejection. Not knowing what type gating your mold has I suggested this as a starting point.

Re: Plastic Flakes forming on Mold surface
I have seen it before from the runner, part, or cold slug well dragging on the way out causing it to leave flakes on the mold.

I agree, check your parts and runner for drag marks, a tell tell sign for the issue you describe.
