    Tooling RFQ Ideas?

    Putting together a quick reference spreadsheet for Tooling Request For Quote (RFQ). Basically just key tooling attributes when looking around for tooling quotes.
    Want to hear what others are doing? Feel free to add some ideas

    Some higher level attributes:

    Part Details
    Material specifics - specific grade, density, melt temp etc.
    Parting line Clamp area
    Minimum press tonnage


    Tool Details
    # of cavities
    Prototype/production
    Injection 1-shot
    Injection 2-shot
    Steel type: P20/H13


    Injection Tool Class

    Hey Chris,

    Perhaps these are outside your intended scope, I am more of a process guy, but these things come to mind:

    - Moldflow included?
    - Warranty on # of shots
    - Parts fall freely or must be pulled manually
    - 25% Spare parts on critical components and/or wearables
    - 70% reduction in price for 3 plate mold designs

    I think shelf time, lead time needs to be considered also.

    I could Add:
    --Steel Type, H13 or others
    --Shot counter need?
    --Ejector limit Sw?
    ---Water connectors Type,
    ---Will include water manifold?
    --DFM (include parting lines proposal, draft angle review, mold flow )
    --Include Spare parts?
    --Weekly progress report
