minimum mold dimensions
Good afternoon! How to determine the minimum dimensions of the form that can be installed on the injection molding machine?
The distance between the columns is 450x450, I put an injection mold with dimensions of 250x250, is this acceptable? Is there a rule for this? Regulations by ratio ?

Re: minimum mold dimensions
Hi,
Generally speaking the mold / machine combination is determined by the tonnage needed to make your part. The smaller mold is just not running as efficiently from a machine hour cost basis in that size of a machine. The machine should have a minimum "Die Height" or distance from the moveable to the stationary platens when it is fully closed. that would determine whether you can run that mold in the machine.

Re: minimum mold dimensions
typical rule of thumb, 2/3 coverage of the platen.

Re: minimum mold dimensions
hello, usualy the minimum mould dimensions are mentioned in machine drawings. If not, is there a rule, take a minimal distance between ejector holes on moving side and this is minimal toolsize - for full tonage.

But Pilot, there is only one hole at ejector side? Which one I should take
