Re: New Machine Brand Decision? Help me choose!

All these are fantastic brands. The other important aspect to consider is the sales and service in your geographical area. I won't mention any names but there is a real good machine manufacturer who...

    Re: Vapor/Air lock detection

I would think the pressure would go up but the flow may be hard to detect. Interesting one.
    Can you keep us posted?

    Re: Drying Desiccant

Oh Yes! Change your desiccant. Some of them do have a longer life. But I think 10 years is too long. I believe 3 to 5 years is max for most.

Excellent response and Questions by JayDub.
The only other thing I would add is to see if annealing would help.

    Re: Embedded Bubbles

    Hi Rook,

If you are running with no problems, then shut down and startup in say 15 mins and you see the problem, I would think there is a additive that is degrading and causing a gas that will...

    Hello,
The best I suggest is to take a class. I say this because this is a time consuming subject. I am not sure who teaches but I think you will find courses on the UMASS Lowell, Penn State Erie...

  9. Re: Uniloy Milicron 500 ton structural foam machine not going into high pressure clamp.

Is it possible that the pump is trying to do perform another function such as applying Nozzle Forward pressure and so there is not enough pressure to lock the mold? When you do it manually, the...
  10. Re: Which manufacture has the best after sales support in your experience?

    Hello,

It would depend on what you are molding, the required part quality, the volumes and so on. There are work horses to mold simple parts in bulk where the quality is not very critical -...

    Re: Back Pressure Settings

    Absolutely correct.
Hydraulic range 50 to 150 psi = Plastic range of 500 to 1500 ppsi (or plastic psi) for an IR of 10.
If it is an electric, it would also be 500 to 1500 ppsi. What you apply is...

    Re: cashew gate in pc/abs?

    Hi Joel,

It would depend on the amount of the ABS, the higher the better. If possible, I would suggest against it as much as possible. You can do two things: (1) if you are molding that material...

Re: Proposal of Acetal in a Hot Manifold

    Hi Joel,

Yes, appearance is a concern. I would also be concerned about the residence time in the hot manifold. Sometimes to reduce the residence time, they will reduce the channel diameters which...

    Re: Nanotubes

    Hello,
3D parts do not have the strength of molded parts. They are only to show and tell, some form and fit - not much function. So unless you mold you will not know for sure. It is best to talk to...

First, you are absolutely right on this: 'My conclusion is that the orientation of the fibers is causing the warp.' Fibers orient whereas talc does not since it is a powder.

    You may have tried...
