what kind of back pressure are you running.
i try to keep my pack up kind of high, just so the transfer pressure is not a huge gap, then drop off more with the hold.

hello RJ,
welcome to the forum.
this has been discussed here

I'm not sure if anyone in there mentioned a product from slide,...
yes, cold oil will allow for a spongy clamp, actually when i came in today from the long holiday, my oil temp was 54F....the machine ran over an hour to get to 110, since then it has not come off of...
ha ha, at first i was thinking mold heater when i saw the title.
How i am not fimiliar with an HPM, most machines have some kind of a valve at the water output to control the oil temp with. most...
Not a problem :-)
hey kyle,
welcome to the forum.
I have used a purging compound in a hot runner before, but it was not a multi-drop tool.
I have had great luck with ultra-purge in the past, seems to do a...
not with the humidity with the mold, but with the material, my bet is that the material is absorbing water.
Excellent, I'll be waiting for some feedback.
that is degraded material.
i would knock down the rest of the sharp edges in your runner as well, they look sharp !!
slow down your injection speed, and drop your heats more.
Running any...
one more thing,
since it is interchangeable cavities, are you sure there is not a water leak ?
has this tooling ran before, or is it new ?
slower injection speed.
What have you done with the barrel temperatures ?
as crazy as it sounds, i have to run the barrel at or close to 400 degrees on my 250 ton toshiba.
Granted, i had this...
IM a molder of rigid PVC daily.
What color ?
IS there moisture in it ? don't laugh i have to dry some colors from different manufacturers.
Injection speed ?
What is the compression ratio...
I think brent is onto something, i have seen previous molders tring to run resin with wrong screw combinations, with lower heats to keep the sheer down in screw.
here it was the resin squealing in...
brent,
i would think of that as if a person had to operate the molding machine, instead of robotics.
as we all know, most of the time a person will make more errors, then a fined tuned robot such...
I like to think the mold release as a lubricant, it may get back into different spots when there is a melted area and help the part to come out ?
Time to squish down some brass screws.
yea, take the end and squeeze it so there is about 1/4 of an inch, heat that baby up, almost glowing and eaze it into the plastic, then spray that sucker with mold release. it may not work the first...
I would never do that, is there enough room to smash some screws flat or use paper clips to heat up and melt into it ?
Spray it heavily with mold release and pull out.
Chris
sounds like you need a higher wattage soldering iron, doesnt sound like the insert is hot enough if it is mangling the part.
yes, which is why you i hope are documenting the process and also staying Lot code tracked so you have traceability.
your data sheets should tell you the melt flow index from lot to lot or...
no problem, let us know your findings. Its always interesting to hear and help others with problems like this.
i would definitely be getting on PPE or IMS website and ordering a laser thermometer.
they are worth the money. It stops the guessing game.
I would also start checking for a weak or burned out...
what percent of glass is this ?
It is more than possible to have screw/tip wear as Suhas has mentioned
