For me they have been TPEs not wanting to eject out of the mold, sprue not wanting to come out. (Will post another question, I think). Any tricks?

I think all the rules of SM go out of the window here! Typically I have always just looked for a good cell structure. I guess one could only still look for cavity balances, pressure drops and do a...
We use a decoupled technique and then gate seal.
Rick, I also have used only one pressure and time for years. I must try your suggestion of droping the time and bringing up the pressure. Thanks.
@Rick, but if there are number of profiles available, how does one use them? Or do we not? Also I thought we need to set the pack time till we get the correct amount of material and then hold to seal...
Yes, the MAD we used to use in out olden days! Brings back memories. That is what is called the Process Window now (I think).
@ Danny R - the changes here we talk about should be small ones. Yes,...
Never had too much luck with tonnages. Good prediction with end of fills.
I think Brent meant you get it in the required 95-98% range, but yes, it must be documented. Brent, are you the famous 'IMM forum' Brent? - Caught you from your signature 'Keep on Molding!'
Correct Mr.Bhat. But when processing a mold, how can one set these? How many sec for pack and how many sec for hold? What would determine that?
Data Sheet from the manufacturer and some handbooks.
Won't a 98% volume = 98% weight?
I will use either depending on the processing range. If the melt temp range is small, I will use the mold temp.
Yes, I do a DOE on every mold I qualify. That way I know I have an optimized process and know what is the first thing I need to change when there is a problem. Also helps me run the mold as fast and...
