    Re: Pack and Hold

i try to keep my pack up kind of high, just so the transfer pressure is not a huge gap, then drop off more with the hold.

I have used a purging compound in a hot runner before, but it was not a multi-drop tool.

I have had great luck with ultra-purge in the past, seems to do a...

Re: Dull spots on finished mold

not with the humidity with the mold, but with the material, my bet is that the material is absorbing water.

Re: Dull spots on finished mold

    that is degraded material.

i would knock down the rest of the sharp edges in your runner as well, they look sharp !!

slow down your injection speed, and drop your heats more.

    Running any...

What have you done with the barrel temperatures ?

    Re: Screeching Screw?

I think brent is onto something, i have seen previous molders tring to run resin with wrong screw combinations, with lower heats to keep the sheer down in screw.

Re: % of Scrap in molding process,

    Re: Removing packed material

I like to think the mold release as a lubricant, it may get back into different spots when there is a melted area and help the part to come out ?

    Re: Removing packed material

I would never do that, is there enough room to smash some screws flat or use paper clips to heat up and melt into it ?

Spray it heavily with mold release and pull out.

sounds like you need a higher wattage soldering iron, doesnt sound like the insert is hot enough if it is mangling the part.
