    Re: Sanity Check

All too common occurrence. Have a print, make a model, shot parts, approve but don't update drawings.

    Re: Brown spot defect

Very difficult to see. But it appears as gas trapped or material degradation.

I'd recommend slowly the injection speed. If that doesn't work, perhaps lowering the barrel temps.

    Re: Storage Box Lid Warpage

Cycle time too short. Cool the B side of the mold. Longer hold time in mold before ejecting. If you still have warp, create fixture to decompress part for a few minutes with fan on part so it cools...

    Re: Injection Moulding training course

There are a number of training seminars here in the US. Unsure of your location, but look up Paulson Plastics Academy, RJG or AIM are most well known programs.

Re: Run mold water at 248F !

    Hey Joel,

We typically run everything from 250 and below on water here. Anything above on oil. With high temp water hoses and fittings - it's not that hot. Be sure to get non-corrosive fittings...

Re: Help: Acrylic Black Specks and Pitting

Was the dryer and hoses cleaned properly from the last job? I know you said you cleaned the screw and barrel, but how about the feed throat from the hopper into the press? Usually it's a square with...

    Re: molding with electrical pins

Has the number of leaking parts always been consistent, or has it recently gone up? Is there a process in order to clean the pins prior to molding around them? If the pins are clean and free of oil...

    Re: Liquid color issue

Along with what JayDub suggested about an alternative screw, we have contacted customers and convinced them of making the switch to dry color for uniformity. Just so much easier to work with and get...

I've had decent luck with ASACLEAN. This is directly from their website. It's important to follow the purging procedure as results vary by material and temps. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the follow up Barath...

So many times people post their issues and never come back and provide solution and often times I wonder what was the error / problem.

    Re: Mold saver

I've never used wax paper on molds... We have to store slides and inserts. For molds we either use the PPE rust preventive or Slide "NO-RUST" rust preventative... Both are clear.

Re: How to control the pressure when molding?

One of the basic rules of scientific injection molding is among the most frequently broken: aim for 95% to 99% filled parts at transfer before packing. (adding pressure)
