Two-shot vs. overmolding

Anyone have a general rule of thumb for determining whether to quote a two-shot operation vs. an over-molded operation. PC substrate, SEBS over-mold for one part and PC/ABS substrate, PC over-mold for the other. EAU is 1M at full maturity.


Also, we are looking to build partnership with molder(s) that can supply parts that we currently do not have capability. This would be for the two-shot opportunities above and a 3-shot application in the 200K EAU range. (Small parts - Not micro)

Finally, we are looking for an LSR molder as well. (Small parts - Not micro)

These would be for medical device industry and some parts may require Class 8 clean room molding.
