Do you do DOEs on all your molds?
We are starting to do DOE's on all of our molds, but prioritization is the key. 1. Quality (CpK's); 2. Scrap; 3. Performance
Yes, I do a DOE on every mold I qualify. That way I know I have an optimized process and know what is the first thing I need to change when there is a problem. Also helps me run the mold as fast and efficient as possible.
If the process has been studied and optimized, when a problem arises, why would there be a need to "change" the process?
No, but on further thought, by "DOE", do you mean a MAD or Molding Area Diagram (older acronym)?
"Keep on Molding"!

Yes, the MAD we used to use in out olden days! Brings back memories. That is what is called the Process Window now (I think).
@ Danny R - the changes here we talk about should be small ones. Yes, big ones should not occur.
