Vented barrel Problem

Hi, I am new in injection molding. I recently bought a toshiba press which have a vented barrel. It worked fine for a month but now melt has been flooding through this barrel. I have tried to seal it off with a high pressure sheet but it was still flooding. So, I am thinking of sealing it completely by welding. Will it be a good idea because it was beneficial in removing excess gas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.:confused:

No, do not weld anything. Find the problem why it is ... using your words 'flooding'. Contact the manufacturer or a processor to find the problem.

Thanks Suhas for replying. I contacted the dealer. They said it is a pvc screw barrel. That's why there is vented opening. They blocked the opening with a metal block. It's working fine for now.
