Hey guys,

Recently purchased a used Nissei press.

Upon putting the first mold in, I've found that most, if not all threads are either tight or stripped out. I was thinking using those thread repair inserts, but wasn't sure how good they were for holding molds/clamps.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Use full length threaded inserts, NOT heli-coils! You can get everything you need from McMaster-Carr. If you have a great tool room you can buy a few inserts and reverse engineer them with the tool room.

Yep, I meant the actual inserts, I use them over helicoils no matter what (I've had bad experiences with them).
I'll check what McMaster has. Thanks Rick
