Hi guys/gals,

My company has been running a mold with Celcon M90 for the past 5 years without a problem. All of the sudden we have a white powder residue making its way back into all the different crevasses of the mold. We have also had customer concerns for white marks on parts. Could this be something that has changed in the material? Has anybody ever encountered this before?

Thanks,
Mike

Is there any sweating occurring in the mold. (Condensation of water)?

Hi,

white rest on the part is usually how POM thermodegradates. Check all temperatures on the barrel and hot runners if any?

Second the issue can cause change of material ("new" POM has different thermodegradable values and it degradates under lower temp.). Are You 100% sure that supplier doesn´t changed any component of POM resin?
