Silicone molds need to be seasoned upon start up in order to run properly. If it is a new mold, it takes a long time to season a mold.
Does anyone know how to pre-season a mold?
Can anyone lead me somewhere to get info on what exactly seasoning is?

Thanks

Brent- it is a lot like seasoning an iron pan before cooking. That is the only information that I can find that pertains to seasoning.
Basically when seasoning a mold, we are filling the microscopic pores in the metal. Until those purse get filled in, the mold will stick parts like crazy.
From the research I have done (with cookware) they use certain oils to season the pans. I guess different oils give them different surfaces'.
With a limitless oxidation and plymersitaton, the sumrfave gets less stick.
I'm curious to what works best as well as what is going on. I'm looking for hard evidence and information. I can't find this anywhere.
Thanks
Kevan
