Can somebody provide me a link to the reference on the number? hopefully with a unit production vs. time graph for injection molded parts on the global scale over the past 6 decades?

Thank you very much,

Do you refer to "acceptable"parts ( no rejects) or total parts?
Does this include China?

Brent, China .... would you mean how many shots it to make one part? Because when the part is bad, they regrind and put it back. Then if that part is bad they regrind and put it back. Then if that part is bad they regrind and put it back. Then if that part is bad they regrind and put it back. Then that part has flash so they deflash and send it to the customer and then adjust the process for flash. But the next part is flashed, so they adjust the process again. So I think that would be a difficult count. Also should DSC data be looked at on the material and then exclude the parts shipped with the degraded material? Can we set a degradation limit of say 20%? What about wrong material parts? In case the end user uses them? How do we count for that?
Your thoughts would be very useful here and Yes - they Keep On Molding .... till they make good parts ... please do share your very valuable thoughts.

In a number of years of which I am not sure the number will be 0 !!! Sorry the only answer I could think of as I am sure this would be an impossible question to answer ... but I have been wrong before : (
