Hi, I have recently started a molding company. Lots of bumps in the road. I am having trouble finding resin and resin salesmen. I need samples of transparent abs. Any advice is appreciated? thanks. barry

Hi Barry,
This is the easiest bum to ride (and probably the smallest bump :) )! What country are you located in?

Hi Barry,
There are several companies that can help you. Here are couple:

http://www.sabic-ip.com/gep/Plastics/en/Home/Home/home.html
http://www.polyone.com/en-us/Pages/default.aspx

Both these are a good start. Contact their tech service, tell them your requirement and they will be able to guide you.

BASF has Terlux clear ABS, and it molds very well if they still own it and sell it. Much more forgiving than PMMA or PC.Rick.

Thanks for the help. Does polystyrene have a melt flow of 20? I have found 15 mfi and have trouble molding. barry

I've seen PS with as high as a 40 melt index (Solvay); but the higher the MFI, the lower the impact..... It's a balancing act.
